AM Application/Process Engineer

The AM Application/Process Engineer will be responsible for becoming a technical expert within the realm of AddUp products and solutions. They will also be responsible for ensuring their assigned projects stay on track and will perform these functions by working closely with the Operations and Technical Teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Gain proficiency to become an AddUp Machines and Production Processes technical expert (programming, setup, operation) 
  • Trouble shoot machines and document corrective actions to drive robust solutions 
  • Assist customers on technical use of AddUp equipment and production processes 
  • Perform customer tests/parts and evaluate projects (generate scheduling, costs) 
  • Create DOE’s based on customer or internal requests for test and mechanical data 
  • Creating technical process documentation and supporting quality system documentation 
  • Develop material/process parameters 
  • Provide in-field customer support on process and applications 
  • Support sales team from a technical point of view along with various trade show participation 
  • On-site (as needed) for customer/vendor application and development 
  • Assist in marketing materials (case studies, pictures, videos, etc.) 
  • Identify improvement in cycle time and cost both internal and external to increase throughput and performance

  • Minimum of 3 years of Additive Manufacturing machine experience, preferably in metals
  • S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Material or equivalent degree
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience with CAD Design Software (Example: Solidworks/NX)
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing training and experience
  • Working knowledge of metals, material science and machining practices in relation to Additive Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge in laser material processing, fiber laser a plus
  • Design of experiments knowledge and experience
  • Process development experience


  • CAM/Slicing software experience (Example: Materialise, Magics, AddUp Manager)
  • Working knowledge of heat treatment and material effects in relation to Additive Manufacturing
  • Previous experience working with global and distributed teams
